LEARNING FROM SUPERHEROES PT.2: HYPERFOCUS

The Hyperfocus clock is part of a designed objects installation intended to reveal the phenomena of Hyperfocus to people who do not experience the condition. As a continuation of learning from people who have been traditionally viewed as having “disabilities”, this clock helps to illustrate not the disability but the super-ability of some humans.

In this case, the “super human” ability to focus on only what one’s attention is fixated on while essentially disregarding the environment around them including time. While in a Hyperfocused state, though time is still occurring, it is felt in a much different manner than those operating in a non abnormal state. Could this be learned? Could this be conjured and beneficial to productivity and efficiency…?

Here is an attempt at understanding.
